Photo Friday #94

My first thought after taking this photo was that the contrast between the historic gold tones of the ceiling and the sleek marble table was mesmerizing. Looking deeper at this contrast, I’ve found that it effortlessly shows how intertwined the timeless themes of the humanities and the cutting edge advances of the sciences truly are. With the ceiling reflected directly on the table, it made me think about how things like ethics, history, and theories of reasoning are implemented directly in science today. As a neuroscience and philosophy double major, this picture fills me with joy as it visually shouts, "STOP TREATING THE ARTS AND SCIENCES AS SEPARATE!!". Or maybe it just does in my head. Regardless, it's cool how random fragments of our world relate so specifically to our lives.
